Resource Center

Welcome
Welcome to the Resource Center for participants in the WebQuest grant. We have been hard at work in the background getting things ready for your visit. The purpose of this site is to provide participants with a single place they can go to get information about the grant. If you find inaccuracies or have suggestions on things we could add that would help please feel free to contact Kirk Langer (klanger@lps.org).

Are you up to date? (June 6, 2002)
At this point everyone should have both of their WebQuests posted and they should have reviewed both the WebQuests of their partner.
  • Written a bio and sent it to the list
  • Checked the list of participants and sent a greeting to your partner
  • Visited the list of available WebQuest topics and selected two
  • Visited the list of selected WebQuest topics to make sure you have those you selected
  • Completed Unit 3-6 (we skipped Units 1 and 2) of the WebQuest Training
  • Created Appleworks documents with content for the Introduction, Task, Process, Evaluation, and Conclusion sections of your first WebQuest.
  • Completed the Manila training
  • Created and posted your first WebQuest
  • Notified your partner of where they can find your first WebQuest
  • Used the on-line rubric to evaluate your partner's first site
  • Created and posted your second WebQuest
  • Notified your partner of where they can find your second WebQuest
  • Used the on-line rubric to evaluate your partner's second site

Wrapping up!
All but a few of you have completed your WebQuests and reviewed those of your partner. Stipends will be disbursed within the next week. The WebQuest Clearinghouse will be updated soon to include all completed grants. Congratulations to each of you on the fine WebQuests you created. If you have any questions about the grant please feel free to contact Kirk Langer.

Important Links

Check out time?
Some of you are wrapping things up early and want to check out. Don't forget that you must complete your two WebQuests (this includes getting them reviewed) and review your partner's WebQuests. If your partner is unresponsive please contact Kirk and he'll go to work to figure out what needs to be done. If you want to know your status based on our records visit the on-line status report and search for your name. If you check that and believe it to be in error contact Kirk and he'll work with you to update it.

Reviewing WebQuests
Remember that an important part of participating in the grant is providing peer review. You can review your partner's completed WebQuests based on a rubric that is available on line at http://forms.lps.org/wqreview. Each participant is required to complete two WebQuests that score a minimum of 40/50.

Presentation Form
When you are ready to complete a presentation of your WebQuests for colleagues in your building don't forget to complete a presentation form that includes a place for your administrator's signature.

Logging into your Webquest
Sometimes the most difficult thing is to find your WebQuest on-line and get logged into it. A list of WebQuests has been created to make it easy to find your site and log in to edit it.

The virtual hangout
The WebQuest list is our virtual meeting center. It is the place to meet other participants, ask questions, and provide suggestions. You will receive all messages sent to the list via email, but you can also access the list via the web. All messages are archived there and you can alter your membership to receive messages in digest format.

Who's participating in this project?
Trying to remember who all has participated in the grant? Check out the list of participants where all but a few naughty coordinators submitted a bio.

Hungry for more?
Thinking you would like to create additional WebQuest sites? Here is a list of WebQuest topics that were not selected by anyone participating in the grant. You can also check out the list of WebQuest topics being completed by participants in the grant.
